RIP - 2020: Closed due to COVID-19 Pandemic.
Overall - Nov 2008:
Same comments as last time. This time the wings were relatively small and slopped with some ketchupy vinegar douche sauce. For entertainment, some old fart with a bad rug on his head was playing shitty country tunes on the jukebox while trying to dance with his trainwreck date that was half his age. We laughed, we cried, we had one round, paid the bill and split.
Overall - Feb 2008:
Why such a drastic drop in score? Meh - we were dissappointed this time out. First of all, there was one server looking after the whole place, as well as bartending. Although the place wasn’t terribly busy at the time, we ended up sitting there with empty beers for 20 minutes waiting for someone to come check on us. We had to keep going up to the bar to flag her down to get her attention - not good.
Also, the wings were somewhat mediocre. Kinda undercooked and slimy - with a generic sauce that didn’t blow us away as in previous visits. The music trivia was still fun, although the dude running it completely ignored our table and we didn’t get to play.
Overall - Jan 2007:
Still a fun bar, good wings, and they didn’t go cheap on the spices! What is wet, cold and cheap? "Cool" beer was, the special of the evening, not bad at all. The place was empty at first, not a good sign. Out comes the speakers and DJ equipment, uh oh. We were thinking it was the dreaded K-word - Karaoke. Luckily it turned out to be a music trivia game, which we sucked at but had a blast anyway. Kudos to the new Cheers owners, was a good time for everyone there. By 2:30am EST we still couldn’t beat the "Secret Asian Man" or any other team really, but went home smiling.
Overall - Nov 2002:
Nailed the wings once again, Julie was fun and a good sport!
Overall - Jul 2002:
Not much has changed in the last few years as we return to Cheers once again. The wings were a little smaller than usual this time around, but the consistency of their taste kept their score solid! Not to mention that these were bang on the money spice wise. A kick-ass hot, with about a 7 minute afterburn. Perfect...
And thus far, Cheers remains one of our BHON favourites!
Overall - Oct 1999:
A decent wingery, the score just increased by 14% due to a free round of Tequila (the official BHON Shot) the last time there. Don’t expect free Tequila when you go there, there are certain advantages to being a member of BHON. Nice big sidewalks in the event that anyone is feeling under the weather.
Overall - Jan 1999:
Big wings, and it was fantastic seeing a couple of jugs approaching the table every now and then. Liked seeing the beer arrive too. Bigguns, (wings) and a calculated ROFAR of 3. A new category EVL - Environment Flatulance Level of 4/3. We’ll be back. |
