Overall - November 2014:
Looks like things didn’t improve much since our last review as Players closed down quietly with barely a wimper after over a decade in business. See....it pays to listen to your friends at BHON, doesn’t it?
Overall - March 2004:
Normally a decent choice, Players failed to impress us on a few fronts this time. Let’s see why the score slid them out of the coveted GOOD section and into the doghouse?
WINGS: - Ugh...we knew going in that we were going to get those breaded wings, which we can tolerate...but these had a distinct off taste. Overcooked and acidy, with a vinegar aftertaste. A second batch proved the first was not a fluke, and they were COLD by the time they were delivered to the table.
SERVICE: - After a few beers, we could have gotten over the disappointing wings, but our waitress seemed more content flitting about the place, ignoring the empty pitchers on our table time and time again. We waited on average 15-20 mins for drinks, and it was not terribly busy. Often, poor service can be attributed to understaffing...but not this time. Wish we would have gotten her name...she deserved a wing SLAM.
Management take note. There is NO excuse for lousy service!

Great, a talking pbbbbt.
Pbbbt said the wings were hot, pbbbt was right. There’ll be no bike riding tomorrow for sure. A ROFAR of around 2.5, and a TAVAR of 4. Kind of a weird, funky breaded wing, but meaty. PS: Watch out, Cops park next door! (Thanks Ron) |
