Overall - Sept 2021:
While still struggling along through this never-ending covid-19 nonesense, we returned to Clancy’s with the hopes of celebrating somewhat of a return to normal - however abnormal things still are.
Really good suicide wings, wontons and pitchers of Rickard’s Red (no Guinness on tap) made it a reasonably cheap night for a change, especially with the prices going up everywhere due to the pandemic.
Last time we were here the Raptors won the NBA championship. That seems so long ago, ya know back when things were normal?
Overall - Feb 2018:
Well that was a welcome surprise! Almost 9 years since our last visit and this time Clancy’s delivered the goods! Decent sized, properly cooked and a really tasty and spicy Buffalo sauce that was right on the money.
No Guinness on tap, as was expected, but we enjoyed several jugs of Rickards Red followed up with an IPA from Granville Island Brewery in BC.
But the best surprise of the night came with the bill - first time we’ve had this much carryover in a decade. Fifty wings for $35 is a great deal, especially when they were as good as these were. That alone pushed the score up to a deserving 79%.
Good job Clancy’s - you might have just earned yourselves a spot back in out regular rotation!
Overall - July 2009:
Decent wings. Much better than the last time out, probably because the last place stiffed us and didn’t have any! Reasonably sized and decent spice. Can’t remember much else about the evening.
Overall - Feb 2002:
Five years later and not much has changed.
We had to settle for the lowest common denominator of beer (Coors Lite) since thats all they had on tap, despite the Rickards Red sign over the bar (false advertising).
Decent sized wings, with an odd barbecue sauce and a texture like they’d been beaten with an ugly stick.
Otherwise not a bad evening...
Overall - 1996:
Small wings but spicey, best when ordered saucy. Too smokey due to Scott.
Good wings, walking distance from Chris’s! |
