Overall - Mar 2006:
Same as last time. Decent wings, a little heavy on the vinegar this time. Service was still slow and the only decent beer is still Moosehead. Was still a good night though!

Wow...who woulda thunk we`d find such good wings smack-dab in the middle of downtown Thorold? The Moose and Goose (formerly Front-54) turned out to be a pleasant suprise for us! Although this location is more known for live entertainment and pub nights for the college crowd, we luckily chose an off-night and were able to enjoy ourselves in relative peace and quiet.
Suprisingly good wings. Big, hot, uniquely spicy with a light breading which was bang on. The score could have easily pushed the mid-eighties on the strength of the wings alone, but we had to knock them for a couple of things. First, no dark beer on tap. Moosehead was the only thing close to premium beer available and they ran out after a few jugs worth. Second, for a place this huge, they only had ONE waitress looking after the whole joint! Service was sloooooowwwwww and we ran dry a few times until we started ordering a couple jugs at a time. Not our girl’s fault, but they really could have used more staff, even on a quieter night like this.
Overall a decent place and worthy of a return visit, although if you are planning on going there for wings, we suggest you check to see if they are hosting a Brock or Niagara College pub night before you do! |
