 Overall - Feb 2026:
After receiving a few positive recommendations from some colleagues, we decided to give Chuck’s Roadhouse an off-week pre-run.
We don’t normally review chain restaurants, but a lot of people had good things to say about Chuck’s for both value and meal quality. It’s a good thing we chose to do a pre-review as we really should have known better than to take wing advice from amateurs. I mean, we’ve been doing this for almost 30 years now. When someone says some place has amazing wings we really need to consider their experience level compared to ours!
So what did Chuck’s deliver? Well not much worthy of a BHON visit I’m afraid....
Guinness on tap? Nope....though we were told otherwise.
Five dollar pints of domestic draught though....and we had some Creemore IPA that wasn’t too bad for the usual $7 a pint. Nothing to write home about.
Wings? Meh....generic chain restaurant fare. Right out of the SYSCO truck and into the fryer. Eight wings for $17 isn’t exactly a great value.
We had a round of hot and a round of Carolina something or other wings. The hot were vinegary as fuck and hardly hot, while the Carolina wings were syrupy sweet with a sauce that would have been better on pancakes than chicken wings.
Also, for the money the wings were on the small side, with heavy KFC style breading to make them look larger than they actually were.
I’m sure you might be able to get a good burger or steak here for a decent price, but as a wing spot I can’t see us going back anytime soon.
