Overall - Nov 2024:
Winding down the BHON 2024 season, we decided to give another new spot a try. Our Niagara Falls inventory of wing spots has lost a few regulars over the past few years, so it is always good to keep our eyes posted for new locations to try. This time up would be the Stirling Niagara Pub & Eatery.
Located in the former Brewin’s location at the bow-tie cross-over between Drummond and Portage Rd, just south of the five corners (ThoroldStone Rd) they’ve apparently been in business for a couple years post pandemic. Guinness and wings on the menu, we were eager to check them out.
First impressions, they classed it up a bit. Lots of TV’s and high-top bar tables to enjoy the game du jour. Not super busy (which is fine with us), we had no issues getting a larger table for our group.
Beer - Guinness on tap but sadly they were out both times we visited. We enjoyed some pitchers of Rickards Red instead, but if you’re going to have a Guinness tap, it should be in working order when we visit.
Wings - They had both standard and jumbo wings on the menu. We tried both sizes in both Buffalo hot and Suicide. The jumbos were slightly overcooked and a bit dry when we had them the first visit. The regular wings were a bit on the smaller side but they were tasty with a fairly textbook hot sauce. Nothing mind blowing, but decent, proper Buffalo wings.
Service was good and our server was friendly and cute.
If they get the Guinness issue sorted out they might be in the running to be our new go-to spot in the Falls!
