Overall - Nov 2016:
In its previous incarnation a decade ago, this location was once home to ’The Daily Planet’. Almost fifteen years later, we returned to check it out again. Still a huge floorspace inside, it’s deceptively small looking from front facade. They’ve changed the layout around somewhat, and the former VIP lounge facing Queen Street is no more. Instead, the current theme is sports bar, with a large gaming area around back and plenty of TV’s for your sporting enjoyment.
We mistakenly ordered a pitcher of some Michelob dog piss before realizing there was Guinness to be had (WTF were we thinking?) followed by a tray of pizza and a few pounds of wings.
The wings were decent sized, with a fairly generic coating of Frank’s hot Sauce. The pizza had a nice crispy thin-crust and ample toppings. Prices were good at $9 per 10 wings and $17 for a 12-slice with 2 toppings. Paid Street parking is lame, but it’s free if you use the big city lot in behind after 6:00pm. Overall a good night, though somewhat unremarkable. Definitely worthy of a revisit in the future!
