Well this was a unique one! Our first ever visit to a ’geek’ themed pub. So what can we say about our trip to the Geekery?
The place has a unique vibe, adorned with film and comic-book paraphernalia throughout. The layout hasn’t changed much since the Sizzlin’ Charlies days, with a large raised bar area and a lower dining area - now outfitted for gamers to hang out and play. Basically, it is a place for ’all things geek’ according to their website.
We split a couple orders of wings. including the traditional Frank’s Buttery Hot and the 3rd Degree Hot which had a sweet thai-chili infused flavour. Both were decent sized and quite tasty, though we were at an impasse as to which ones we liked better. No Guinness on tap, but we enjoyed a few pitchers of local microbrew from Brimstone Brewing in Ridgeway.
Overall it was a different spot for a BHON evening. Decent wings, good beer and reasonable prices all round made it a worthwhile visit.
We’ll be back!
