Updated - Sept 2016:
Looks like the Kilt and Clover - Beamsville edition has bit the dust. Guess they were too far off the beaten path to pull in the people they needed to keep open.
Overall - June 2012:
Our first pub crawl in Lincoln started off at the recently opened Kilt and Clover - Beamsville location. They did quite a nice job fixing the place up inside, and our first impressions we quite favourable. Ample seating and much larger than the original Port Dalhousie joint, our pub crawl was off to a good start.
The Good: A nice pub, tons of space and much larger than their original location in Port. Guinness on tap @ under $6 a pint and even a small outdoor patio to top off the list of amenities.
The Not-so-Good: Mediocre wings, slopped in Frank’s hot sauce at $10 a pound is not such a good deal. The wings were served up with fresh cut fries that were burnt and tasted like they were cooked in yesterday’s fish fry oil.
We started out on the patio, but were soon swarmed by a horde of smokers coming out to enjoy the fresh air so we retreated back into the bar where a large table of douchebags were busy monopolizing our server’s attention for the rest of the night. As a result, service was exceptionally slow. The other server who was looking after the floor seemed pre-occupied at the computer terminal by the bar. Either their point of sale system was too complicated for her to figure out, or she was busy updating her Facebook profile. Who knows?
Overall a decent pub with great potential. We were disappointed by the slow service and underwhelming wings, so we had a few pints and split to the next location. Perhaps another time.... |
