What is it they say, the third time is a charm for everything? Well that certainly seemed to be the case with Taps on Queen - Brewhouse and Grill.
When a place has the word "Brewhouse" in the name, you know it better have some fine beers on tap, and Taps didn’t disappoint in this area. Excellent pints to be had all around! We enjoyed some of the Red Cream Ale, along with a round of the Vanilla Wheat and Premium Lager. All were served in frosty tall pint glasses, fresh from the keg - just the way we like em! The Red Cream Ale was especially tasty and ranked as the crowd-pleaser of the evening.
As for the wings, well we would have given them a much higher score, but on our first outing, there were no wings to be had! Not to be discouraged, be thought we would try again the following week and once again - no wings! WTF? Finally, we decided to change things up a bit and stop by on a Wednesday night (their advertised "Wing-Night") and see if they finally had wings....low and behold, we would not be denied a third time!
Were the wings worth waiting for? Well when the first batch arrived at the table, we all laughed...kinda like most of my girlfriends do when I take off my pants for the first time! "I don’t think I’ve seen anything so tiny before!" Yeah....they were pretty puny, but after you stick them in your mouth, they are tasty just the same. Incidentally, that’s the same retort I use when defending my manhood! But at 20 cents apiece, who could complain? We consumed over 100 wings and hardly broke the bank, which is not something that can be said about very many wing establishments these days. Combine that with some mighty fine microbrewery beer and we have a place that could very well become the new default location for Niagara Falls!
