Update
Like the GM Plant beside it, the Golden Pheasant is no more.
We liked the Duck as it was always a good and cheap night, but the writing for them was on the wall when GM closed. When your biggest source of clients leaves, you don’t stand much of a chance.
Overall - July 2008
Fuckin’ Aye....just the way we like ’em. Big hot and saucy, and the Duck sure delivered this time around. Giant wings, spiced just right! Tasty sauce and cheap Guinness confirmed their consistent performance and pushed the score into the 90% range!
Also the second time we’ve had carryover in the past two outings which was an unexpected bonus! Kudos to the waitress for telling us to Fuck Off after making her bring yet another round of Guinness out to the patio!

When a place has been a neighborhood fixture as long as "The Duck", they must be doing something right! A thousand GM employees agree - The Duck has the best wings in a 1 block radius!
We arrived to find Guinness on tap, which was an unexpected suprise, along with some huge and tasty wings - almost on par with Bugsy’s in terms of wing size and quality. Excellent pizza to be had as well. We will definately have to add the Duck to our short list for a return visit in the near future, as a consistent performance on a second visit could very well push their score into the coveted 90 percentile!
Also have to mention value....a pint of Guinness for under 5 bucks is a real steal and at 50 cents each, the wings were a real deal as well. Unfortunately for us, this encouraged our group to drink 25 more pints, basically wiping out any savings we would have seen otherwise! Nonetheless, our evening at the Golden Pheasant was a great time! |
